Alex Dunn, 50, moved to Bristol in 1976, and to Westbury-on-Trym 18 years ago with his partner, Kate. After five years teaching chemistry he retrained in IT, joining British Gas in 1989. He went on to become head of IT at Hill House Hammond and then IT director at BSM. He has also run his own IT business. He is involved in many organisations including Sustainable Westbury, a group working to improve the local environment, and played a key part in the campaign to halt the unsustainable Avonmouth biofuels plant. He also campaigned against Bristol Zoo using the Down as a car park. He plays chess and cricket and has an allotment. |
