Angela Thomson has been a councillor on Broomfield parish council near Chelmsford since May 2007. As a part-time commuter to London, she is keen to see improvements in public transport. Born in Scotland, she moved to Essex more than 30 years ago to live with her partner Andrew. She has a degree from the Open University. Thomson joined the Green Party in 1987, since when she has stood in many local elections and helps run her local party. She was on the Green Party Policy Committee for three years running workshops and updating planning, workers' rights, and population policy.
