Anne Gray is 65 and has lived in Tottenham since 1983. Recently retired from academic research, she authored a book on claimants' experience of welfare benefits and has also written on childcare and the problems of older people living alone. Locally she is active in Sustainable Haringey and was co-founder of the Tottenham Food Co-op, as well as helping to run a big allotment site at Tottenham Hale. She supports the local campaigns to save the Whittington Hospital A&E and challenge health service privatisation. She also campaigns on civil liberties and solidarity with Palestine.
