David Young has lived in Birch Hill, Bracknell since 1982. He is married with two grown-up sons who both went to Birch Hill and Easthampstead Park schools. He was a school governor for eight years (including three periods as vice chair). Young has worked at the Bracknell Citizens Advice Bureau, with the Bracknell Conservation Volunteers and is a member of several local environmental groups. He has been the secretary of the local residents' association as well as being the prime mover in establishing the regular Birch Hill and Hanworth community litter-picks, of which there have now been 56. He is a voluntary steward at the South Hill Park Arts Centre and since 2000 has been a voluntary helper at his local primary school. He keeps fit by jogging and ran the 2009 Bracknell half marathon. The whole family supports Reading Football Club (through thick and thin). |
