Ceredigion

Leila Kiersch

Leila Kiersch has lived in Ceredigion for roughly 10 years, moving here originally to study biology at Aberystwyth University. Since then she has completed a masters in environmental education and an NVQ in childcare. She has broad, real-life experience, including as a conference organiser, support assistant and, most recently, in childcare. She helped set up and run the Save Our Seas campaign, which successfully prevented the Government from granting licences for oil and gas exploration in Cardigan bay. She lives in the countryside, some seven miles from Aberystwyth with her husband and two children, one of whom goes to the village school, the other to Penweddig. Her political interests are rural communities, housing, climate change and local services. She is also currently doing her utmost to learn Welsh to a high standard.
