Julia Stephenson is an author and environmental journalist. She has been the local Green Party candidate in the area for 10 years, winning 11 per cent of the vote at the council elections in 2007. In a bid to reduce dependence on dwindling fossil fuel reserves, Stephenson is currently converting her flat into the first zero-carbon dwelling in Chelsea. She and her long-suffering husband look after three ex-battery chickens and have recently installed solar panels on the roof.
