Lucy Craig, 62, is a former teacher and is married with two adult children and three grandchildren. She was a very active member of the Labour Party for more than 25 years including 12 years as a local councillor. However she became increasingly unhappy with the changed values and policies of New Labour and last year joined the Green Party, finding its egalitarian and progressive principles to be more in common with her own. Throughout her life, Craig has been actively involved in the peace movement, environmental issues and campaigns for electoral reform.
