Dr Derek Chase has been a general practitioner in Westminster for more than 20 years, founding the Cavendish Health Centre in 1992 and subsequently the King's College Health Centre in the Strand. He has served at Executive level in the Westminster Primary Care Trust, and been on the Board of Visitors at Holloway Prison. His increasing conviction of the need for a new approach to sustainable living and the necessity of building healthy communities led him to leave the Cavendish practice in order to stand for parliament. He is particularly concerned about air pollution in London, which leads to premature deaths and poor lung development in children. He lives in Hammersmith and is married with two children. He also sings and plays the saxophone.
