Shane Collins has been a member of the Green Party since 1989 and is its national drugs spokesperson. He is a board member of the Lambeth Community Police Consultative Group and the licensee for London's Urban Green Fair. He also organizes the annual Brockwell Park Summer Feast. Collins is a director of the Big Green Gathering and a fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs. In the Nineties, he was involved in road protests at Twyford Down and Reclaim the Streets and helped run CoolTan Arts in Brixton. In 2000 he joined the Nader Green presidential campaign in New York and completed a speaking tour of 23 US cities. He has a partner, a child and a carbon footprint of 2.77 tonnes a year.
