Michael Jackson was born and brought up in Yorkshire. He has a PhD in physics and runs his own small business in East Yorkshire in renewable energy and energy efficiency. He lives in the village of Nafferton and serves on the parish council where he has been involved in fundraising for the new playground and has started a scheme to provide free loft insulation to every house in the village. He is married with two children who go to the local primary school.
