Euan McPhee is 63 and is married with one daughter. He and his wife have lived on a nine-acre smallholding near Redruth for 14 years. As an ecologist, he teaches on the FdSc biology course at Truro College. The smallholding is run on organic principles, is registered under the Environmental Stewardship Scheme and is open to visits by students, community groups and people with special needs. McPhee is a member of Lanner Methodist Church and is involved in various community activities in the area when not busy raising poultry, sheep and vegetables, and managing the wildlife habitats which form part of the smallholding.
