Farid Bakht was born in Hackney to a Basque mother and Bengali father and is an international co-ordinator of the Green Party. He is married with a nine-year-old daughter. A prolific writer on politics, economics and the environment, he has been an activist in Bangladesh on behalf of the rickshaw pullers, female garment workers and urban youth. With a background in small business and management consultancy, Bakht wants to revive local high streets and save local firms. He places education and the next generation at the heart of his campaign.
