George Dow has lived in Wallington for 30 years with his wife and family, works in management training and is a trustee of a national environmental charity. Over the years he has been active in the community in many areas including local branches of CND and Friends of the Earth as well as the Churches Together group. Having won the local Guardian's Green Household Award in Sutton in 2008, he went on to be runner-up in the south-west London regional awards. He has a particular interest in the Transition Towns movement and is currently working with others in Hackbridge to support Bioregional's One Planet Living project.
