James Greenwood is a 45-year-old businessman, smallholder and family man. He has lived in the Forest of Dean for 15 years. Educated at Edinburgh University where he studied Economics and Business Studies, he had a brief spell in the City where he saw first-hand and was disgusted by the greed and short-termism of the banking system. He left to become the first man to circle the world on horseback, including a considerable time spent in Afghanistan and Iran. He has served as a local councillor in Lydney, in particular fighting the unwanted Lydney bypass developments on prime agricultural land.
