Kerry Gormley has three children and lives in Hyndburn, having returned to the North West in 2006 after living and working in London for most of her adult life. Born and brought up in Blackburn, she went to Hull university and then moved to London in the Eighties where she worked in publishing in both the private and public sectors. Politically, her interests are in health and wellbeing, education and peace and conflict resolution. A veteran environmental activist, Gormley supports the work of Hyndburn's community-owned local charity the PROSPECTS Foundation, is a committed member of Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Friends of the Earth and supports the work of Hyndburn's Fair Trade group.
