Dave Dixey is 49 and has lived in Leicester all his life. He currently works as an energy efficiency adviser. He has been an active member of the Green Party for several years, and has campaigned for better recycling facilities and cycling routes in and around the city. He is interested in the preservation of the countryside and supports the Save the Aylestone meadows campaign. Dixey is a former publican and has been very active on the local music scene, promoting and supporting local bands and artists.
