Rebecca Lawson came to Liverpool in 1997 as a lecturer in psychology at the University of Liverpool. She still works there and has lived on Upper Parliament Street for over a decade. She works and campaigns on local and global issues with Liverpool Friends of the Earth, the Merseyside Cycle Campaign and the Friends of St James Gardens. Her campaigning led to her realisation that political change was needed to address the causes of many social-justice and environmental problems, as a result of which she joined the Green Party in 2007.
