Brian Candeland is 58 and has lived in South Manchester for 25 years. Married with two sons, he works in computing in the centre of Manchester. Candeland has been a member of the Green Party for nearly 30 years and during that time has stood for the party at local, national and European level. He has fought many local battles, most recently the Stop Mega-Tesco campaign against a threatened nearby superstore. He was one of the authors of Call to Real Action, a response to the city's climate-change plans produced last year.
