Malcolm Bailey is a writer and Green activist who lives in Bedfordshire and is married with three grown-up children and three grandchildren. He was a county councillor in Bedfordshire for 12 years, serving on the Bedfordshire education committee. He was vice-chair of the governors of Luton Sixth Form College, and has supported many campaigns to prevent the closure of village schools. He has also taken a keen interest in nursery education provision. Bailey worked as a senior medical physicist for many years in the NHS at the Royal London Hospital, and was senior lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire until 2006.
