Jessica Goldfinch is 43 and has lived in Norwich for 12 years. She grew up as a British Army dependent and is currently retraining from psychology to become an RE teacher. She has worked as a teaching assistant in a local constituency senior school for the past four years. Goldfinch is a single mother of a 12- year-old daughter. She was a City Councillor from 2003-2006 and continues to campaign on local issues, for example against the NDR (Northern Distributor Road), preserving Surestart centres and senior care facilities. She is a media volunteer for Rethink mental health charity and has written an as-yet unpublished children's book about mental health.
