Ashley Baxter has lived in the constituency with his wife and young family since 2006. He is an award-winning energy manager and currently works at an energy consultancy based in Cambridgeshire. Baxter has a track record of getting things done, firstly within community co-operatives including Nottingham Credit Union and the Fenland Wind Co-op, and secondly within government: he is an active parish councillor in Deeping St James, and has previously been successful in promoting environmental initiatives including farmer's markets and community composting and energy-efficiency projects as a local government officer in Nottinghamshire. He also campaigns actively against global poverty and the arms trade.
