Tom Chance works as a researcher at the Greater London Authority, specializing in housing, planning, energy and the London 2012 Games. His professional life began with freelance journalism, followed by a variety of communications, research and community engagement work at a leading sustainability organization. Chance has been involved with Green politics for 10 years, campaigning on a wide range of issues including trade justice, workers' rights, Green and decentralized energy, illegal logging, software patents and copyright. Chance recently spoke for the Green Party at a rally in Whitehall opposing the Digital Economy Bill. He has spent many weekends fighting for fairness: lobbying MEPs in Brussels, taking non-violent direct action against unethical companies and running arts events for refugee groups and the wider community.
