Matthew Sidford is 45 years old, and works as an NHS nurse. Matthew lives in Gloucester with his family. He has been a follower of Green politics for many years, Since the birth of his daughter in 2007 he as become doubly motivated to fight for a better future. Matthew stood in the local elections last year, campaigning against local post office closures, the Gloucester Airport expansion and a proposed incinerator. Matthew is active in the newly-formed Transition Gloucester, a local sustainability initiative. He believes Tewkesbury's challenges of flood prevention, new housing pressures, improving public transport, and helping local farms and businesses require a joined-up approach, centred on building a better local, sustainable economy.
